Gnome Tales

Oglebee Anointed

Truth Hammeraxe First Bard of Deephome

During the times of trouble when dragon men returned to the world, Mystra sent to the shores a noble, gentle, and goodly Monk named Oglebee. Oglebee was a hero of the people and spent many a day toiling hard in the service of anyone who needed him. One day Oglebee saw a great Orc, a Human, and a Knighted Gnome pass close to the place where he was working. Curious at this odd party Oglebee went out to meet them.

The party, seeing that Oglebee was a respected, mighty and stalwart Gnome, stopped to speak with him. The trio explained that they, at the Queen’s request, were off on a quest. That they had to collect a sacred artifact, hidden in a secret temple by an Oracle so that Pelor could come again and fight the growing threat in the world. They invited Oglebee to accompany them and being both virtuous, and of noblest gnome character Oglebee agreed to join forces with them.

When they arrived at the temple of the Oracle, they found that the vile and hateful Takhisis had sent her Dragon Men who had swarmed the temple. The party not to be dissuaded rode in with weapons drawn, and hearts divine. They slashed, and assaulted the draconian army, they skirmished and scuffled, but none so fierce as Oglebee.

Oglebee went from draconian to draconian making savage sport of their genitals as he went. The screams of Oglebee’s enemies were as the howling winds of the plains. When the screams died, and the last draconian fell there stood Oglebee awash in their gore. Triumphant, with the piece of Pelor’s spear held aloft. Such was Oglebee’s murderous wildness that the Orc Chief Kheregrell striped down and anointed Oglebee in the way of Orcs, bathing him in her golden spray of savagery. And this is how Olgablee became the Holy Gome anointed by an Orc Chieftan.

The Song of Ella

Truth Hammeraxe First  Bard of Deephome

In the years before Second Skyfall in the lush green forest city of Lynnwood, a great and wise monarch lived with his people. Dunk Donk the wise was protective of his subjects, but a great evil had fallen upon them. For the city of Lynnwood was plagued by a foul and evil creature called Ethel. Ethel terrorized the gnomes of Lynnwood, thrashing their crops, eating their cattle and driving their most hearty hunters from the forests. Lynnwood began to diminish and starve.

Dunk Donk being a wise Gnome new what to do, he sent word to every city seeking the aid of Ella, the greatest Gnome Knight. Such was the breathtaking power of Ella that Human, Dwarf, and even the Orcs welcomed her into their halls. Each was hoping to learn and benefit from her unmatched skills and virtue.

In all directions flew the many ravens, with the greatest haste, bearing the most desperate pleas of Lynnwood for Ella to come to their aid. Ella had arrived in the great human city, not an hour before the raven. So urgent was the situation that she did not even stop to unpack. She took with her a few companions and set out riding as though Takhisis were chasing her. Days they flew through the countryside, barely stopping to rest. The heroes forced themselves and their mounts to near exhaustion to reach Lynnwood in time!

Ella reached the green halls of Lynnwood as the sun rose, she came with her mighty sword held aloft. Ethel raised her great head sensing it’s doom, and it turned to greet it. Ella met the beast sword to talon. The battle was fierce and Ethel gruesome, but Ella would not fail at this task. She raised her sword once more and with a mighty stroke she took the head of the beast.

Ella brought the head of the beast to the wise leader Dunk Donk, and it was put on a spike. The Gnomes threw a feast in Ella’s honor and toasted her companions for their part. With Ethel slain, the gnomes of Lynwood were free once more to live in peace. They danced, drank, sang and rejoiced well into the night for the terror of Ethel would never trouble Lynnwood again.
